East Rutherford Youth Soccer League Purpose

The East Rutherford Youth Soccer League (ERYSL) is all about making a difference in our community, one kick at a time! We're super excited about helping kids, both boys and girls, from Pre-Kindergarten all the way to eighth grade, become the best they can be.

Think of us as a big, fun, soccer-loving family. No matter if you're just starting out or already have some nifty footwork, there's a place for you here. We're all about making sure everyone gets to enjoy soccer and learn some cool skills.

But it's not just about the game. At ERYSL, we make sure everyone feels safe, supported, and positive, because we believe that's how you really grow, both on the field and off it.

We think soccer is also a great way to learn some pretty important life lessons. Like how to play fair, be a good sport, and respect each other. That's what we're all about. And, you know what? We believe these lessons go beyond the soccer field and make us better friends, students, and community members.

At ERYSL, we're not just about playing soccer - we're about making our community better, too. That's why we encourage everyone to get involved and help out. After all, a good citizen is like a good team player – always ready to lend a hand and do their part.

Welcome to the 2024 Fall Recreation Soccer Registration!

Fall 2024 Season Registration Instructions

Welcome to the Fall 2024 soccer season with the East Rutherford Youth Soccer League! To ensure a smooth and efficient registration process for your child, please follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Create an Account on CivicRec

All families must start the registration process by creating an account on the East Rutherford's CivicRec site (CLICK HERE). This platform will be used to securely upload necessary documents for registration.

Required Documents

Birth Certificate: Upload a scanned copy of your child’s birth certificate to verify age eligibility for the respective programs.
Proof of Residency: Upload two documents proving residency within East Rutherford. Acceptable documents include Driver's License, utility bills, lease agreements, or bank statements with your current address. All documents should be recent (within the last three months).

Step 2: Register on the ERYSL Website

Once you have successfully uploaded the required documents on CivicRec, you will gain access to the registration link for ERYSL.

If documents cannot be verified through ER Civic Rec your child will not be allowed to participate in the soccer program.

Registration Opens: April 20th, 2024
Registration Closes for U10, U12 ad U14: July 20th, 2024

AGE GROUPS

In-Town soccer ONLY

U6- Children 4-5 years old - Grade PreK3 and K

U8- Children 6-7 years old - Grade 1 and 2

South Bergen Soccer League(TRAVEL)

Registration Closes for U10, U12 ad U14: July 20th, 2024

U10- Children 8-9 years old - Grade 3 and 4

U12- Children 10-11 years old - Grade 5 and 6

U14- Children 12-13 years old - Grade 7 and 8

Kitchen Duty

ERYSL maintains and runs a full kitchen with meals, snacks, and drinks for our players, families, and guests at the McKenzie Field. A menu can be found on our Facilities page. The kitchen is open during all ERYSL games including post season tournament games.

Proceeds from the kitchen directly benefit the ERYSL program to offset costs incurred during the season.

Parents of all ERYSL players are asked to perform at least one 2-hour shift in our Kitchen. Parents with more than one child in the program are asked to perform two 2-hour shifts.

We will have Kitchen Duty sign ups available at uniform pick up. Kitchen Duty sign up must be completed to receive your player's uniform.

Parents who wish to Opt-out of kitchen duty shifts may do so with a $50 fee ($100 for more than one child) paid in Cash, Venmo, or Check to ERYSL. Money may be paid at the kitchen during uniform pick up.

NJ Tax Holiday for Sports Equipment

The New Jersey State Legislature recently enacted a sales tax holiday from August 26th through September 4th. Specifically, sellers are not to charge sales tax for certain retail sales of sport or recreational equipment, computers and school supplies when sold to an individual purchaser for non-business use. We share this information with you for awareness that sports and recreational equipment are included for both online and in-person purchases. The New Jersey Division of Taxation designates the following sports and recreational equipment as tax-exempt during this initiative, including but not limited to:

Athletic Shoes (Cleated or Spiked)
Shin Guards
Goggles
Mouth Guards
Guards (Hand or Elbow)
Gloves (Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, Hockey and Golf)
